Dangle Causes More Death

As if the controversy here over Airborne and my collaboration with the company in defrauding of millions of Americans, forcing them to believe, through the heinous persuasiveness of my scientific medical illustrations, that Airborne cured colds––and died as a result––now even more death is raining down upon America thanks to my cartoons.

As Dirty Hippie pointed out in a previous post, the new SIGG bottle I designed lacks essential purity due to a controversy over the Swiss company's lack of candor in admitting the use of BPA, bisphenol A, a stuff that is believed to adversely affect your health, in their bottles prior to 2008. After 2008 they started using a BPA-free liner. They evolved.

Amateur ethicist Bruce Edwards, a sometimes poster to this blog and my Facebook page, has said that, when one makes a cartoon or design for a corporate entity one becomes a party to any crimes or missteps the company makes or has made in the past, and that I am guilty of causing pain, suffering, and, yes, death, in both instances.

What I don't get is why my design is available for purchase here but not here.

I love Airborne, and I love your drawings of germs on the package.

I don't remember my exact words in my previous posts and they don't seem to be online anymore, but I'm pretty sure you're exaggerating my original ideas. I wouldn't necessarily assert that an artist bears responsibility for all the crimes and missteps of his clients. However, when the client suffers bad press as a result of a widely publicized lawsuit, there would tend to be a bit of collateral damage to the reputation of other people associated with the product. In continuing to contribute to advertising the product, there would seem to be an implication that you are confident in its efficacy. As you say, I am only an amateur ethicist, so you may have to resolve these issues with your conscience based on your own individual sense of ethics, but please do let me know if you have any further concerns you'd like me to address. I'm here to help.

Thanks Bruce!

I'm sure I paraphrased you strongly. By the way, SIGG evolved and did the right thing in 2008 and hasn't used BPA since. Airborne is still using the same formula for immune-boosting, but the same for branding. They haven't been using my art lately.

Thanks Dorothy too!

Heck, I take Airborne due solely to art. Who do I get to sue?

I bought some bullets because I thought that the art on the bullet package looked Dangle-esque. Whom do the relatives of all the shot-up cellphone-talking motorists sue?

If Airborne isn't using your art, who drew the picture of the goofy cartoon guy currently shown prominently on Airborne's official web site?

Mr. Dangle, I've designed lots of logos and done some illustrations, and I always assume full responsibility for everything the companies I work for do and for any crimes they commit (in perpetuity).

By the way, you are also responsible for George W Bush's two disastrous administrations since you convinced me, and a butt-load of nice people in Florida to vote for someone other than the very lame (hey, he's gotten better now) Senator Al Gore.

I don't know who drew it, Bruce, but they forgot to put on the eyebrows, which makes it an obvious copy.
