Cartoonist Pilloried!
I couldn’t believe it when I saw this the other night. Lawrence O’Donnell called this cartoon a racist obscenity and went on and on over it pleading with the cartoonist’s mother, friends, and wife to make him stop. Maybe it’s racist to show a black woman eating hamburgers. Maybe it’s racist to show Obama with comically large ears. What do you think?
Every cartoonist toils away in obscurity and can’t buy a mention in the media until they eventually do something that’s picked up on as obscene or offensive. Then they get their fifteen minutes in the spotlight. You see it all the time.
In light of this, it’s a good day to play Offendo. Help me get my fifteen minutes of abuse from a sanctimonious TV host.

It's not racist. It's also not funny. It doesn't even make any sense.
The clearly racist part is the placement of the Heinz 57 sauce bottle, a racist condiment if there ever was one. As if you didn't know, you racist.
It's a twisted, post-postmodern take on "Jack Sprat and his wife". Without seeing the whole thing, though, what's the point? The actual cartoon layout's pretty damn good, if I do say so objectively. Ain't no Lloyd Dangle, but hey, it's clearly what the Righties want.
Thanks for the glimpse into another world.
I don't get it.
This O'Donnell fellow doesn't visit cartoons... ever. He asks us several times if we can even begin to imagine who is the woman depicted. Looks just like Michelle Obama to me... it's beyond obvious! If O'Donnell would visit the editorial section of gocomics.com he would see the works of near 50 different cartoonists... many of whom hate the Obamas. Clay Jones draws him looking like a rat. Michael Ramirez depicts him as an anteater. Glenn McCoy draws him as a puppet clown. And Mike Luckovich, who grew steadily repulsed by Bush, drew that President as a shrinking insect, to the point he was merely a tiny speck towards the end. Gary Trudeau drew Bush as a decaying and battered Roman gladiator helmet. I don't see any respect towards these politicians whatsoever... why should there be? But O'Donnell is delusional if he thinks this cartoon is cause for a mental health intervention. What a whining little panty waist. I will agree with the folks here... the cartoon is not funny... rather weak, and doesn't really make any sense.
