Epic performance that can NEVER be replicated - like 300-game-winning pitchers in baseball, you set the endurance bar so high for a weekly political cartoonist with your run - it won't happen again.
I heartily congratulate you on twenty-two years of newsworthy, contemporaneous, well-conceived commentary and satire in an original format of caricature of our most prominent figures.
I am so very proud of you - you ARE a great American - and you mustn't ever doubt the impact of your work.
It was important to me as a college student in the political science department at UT Austin in the 80's and early '90 to know I wasn't alone feeling so profoundly opposed to Reagan/Bush era policy. (I was, after all, surrounded by the very voters who gave Austin's majority to a Republican for President in '88). I have met others for whom you functioned like this - a beacon in the dark madness.
The Troubletown books remain an excellent repository of many sidelined stories - the stories of the losing side during the 30-year cold freeze of Reagan/Bush Doctrine - and as an archive cannot be undervalued.
Finally, know that though you may not have gotten much feedback, you affected hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands and perhaps hundreds of thousands over the years.

Dude, lame. Another of life's little pleasures gone. Seriously bummed. Probably the biggest dissapointment since Cursor tanked. Good luck with whatever you're going to do.
I don't know whether to thank you for all the years of great righty bashing or to be pissed that you're leaving me like this. I guess its both, yuh? Just know that if you ever want to resume Troubletown, I won't hold a grudge. And yeah you made a difference, even if dubya did get elected. twice!?!?! Ok, maybe you didn't quite work hard enough on that one.
Thank you for making sense out of a senseless world. Your wisdom will be missed!

wow, just went to get my weekly dose of Dangle and it was replaced by another strip. Where can we see your work Lloyd or what's next?
Very sorry to learn that Troubletown is done! Twenty-two years of ridiculing the stupidity of humanity with right-on observations and great wit. It's a sad day.
For years, I've enjoyed finding your Troubletown in the weekly newspapers around the country.
Is there no way for our cartoonists to earn a decent living in the US of A? Print weeklies folding. Nothing left but corporate media? We've got a huge problem.
