Dear Sir,
I am a professional artist who makes charts for Fortune 500 companies throughout North America and have been a frequent purchaser of Mr. Sketch chisel tipped unscented markers in the blue box for over twenty years. I’ve had many lovely days using the wonderful product and I’ve praised the Sanford Corporation for its quality at every opportunity.
I was recently at a professional conference where I was approached by a colleague with a recently bought set of Mr. Sketch markers in a clear plastic carrying case. She and I agreed that while Mr. Sketch markers were never as good as El Markos, which are now available only as a private label product, they were the best markers in a pinch. You could always count on Mr. Sketch and you could find them even at the shadiest art stores in the worst parts of town.
She pointed out that there was a new nipple-tipped design and that the nipple-tips were so bad they were unusable. I thought, she must be hysterical, they couldn’t be that bad. As it turned out she was not exaggerating at all.
It is impossible to express how much the new nipple-tipped markers in the pink boxes suck. They are the worst implements of drawing I have ever tried. Not only is the tip lacking of the flexibility of a chisel tip, but it’s also dry as hell right out of the box. What were you thinking? The new tips, combined with the utter lack of juice have rendered your product worthless.
I am writing to urge you to go back to the tried and true Mr. Sketch markers. Chisel tips. Blue box. I just threw three pink box sets in the trash.
Sincerely,
Lloyd Dangle
